Shul did not know his precise location, but he did know the approximate grid he was located within, so the search continued until his exact location was determined by him being able to see American aircraft. Air Force inventory inthe SR was the fastest, highest flying jet aircraft in the world. He did some in-flight photography that's amazing.

This book gets five stars just for the incredible discipline and skill necessary to fly this airplane. Instead, he heartily shook our hands and shuul the commander had told him it was the greatest SR flypast he had ever seen, especially how we had surprised them with such a precise maneuver that could only be described as breathtaking.

In one photo, he's on top of the shhl in the Arctic Circle and you can literally see night and day at the same time.
